GenXers are a most unique generation - the smallest of the three main grown-up generations born between 1965 and 1980 (sorry Zoomers, but we know you’re in the equation, too) - we’re in between the Boomers (1946-1964) and the Millennials (1981-1996). The narrative around GenXers tends to skew towards the negative - we’re the “latchkey kid generation,” the “milkcarton kid generation”, even the “lost generation.” We’ll be writing about this negative and false narrative in a future blog post, but suffice it to say, we actually wield an enormous amount of economic power and we lead most companies.
We also are under a whole lot of pressure - we carry more debt than the other generations, and we also take care of kids AND our parents. We face the reality of ageism, and we are also heading towards retirement. There are a lot of moving pieces in our lives!
That is why GenXpertise was founded - to help GenXers navigate all the areas of our lives. We are designing an incredible program database behind the scenes (sign up for our mailing list for exclusive upcoming content and announcements) that will provide community and support and opportunities for GenXers, by GenXers (I love that concept, don’t you?). Success is a team sport, so as we continue to age, sticking together and helping one another is the way we are going to navigate the future successfully and with fun and friendship.
