Who Says GenXers are

The current media narrative about GenXers (those of us born between 1965-1980) is incomplete and misleading. Supposedly we're "a mess" (New York Times), "overlooked" (AARP Magazine), the "forgotten generation" (Forbes), and a neglected "middle child" (Pew Research Center). Yada yada yada.
But we're no Jan Brady.
The reality is rather different:
- we're experts, with more than 50% of GenXers in the workforce in professional leadership roles within our companies and organizations.
- we control an outsize portion of spending power for a generation of our small size ($2.4 trillion).
- We're the hardest workers in the labor market and we know how to get sh*t done.
- We're the critical bridge between the Boomers and Millennials.
- The workforce NEEDS us, just like we want and need to continue creating success for ourselves and our families.
Yet we face certain harsh realities, like:
Ageism is real.
The job market competitive.
We have unique financial pressures - we carry lots of debt, take care of our kids and our parents, and wonder when we can (maybe, someday?) retire.

I'm so happy you stopped by.
I'm an entrepreneur, business development expert, executive coach, writer, speaker, diversity strategist, mom, former law professor, and trial attorney. And, of course, a GenXer (like my high school yearbook photo? LOL).
I've trained and coached thousands of professionals during my career. During the last few years, I noticed that there were no engaging platforms just for GenXers that would help us navigate our lives as we continue to age - particularly our careers. So I built one!
GenXpertise is a place that celebrates your expertise and success, and where any member can visit - at any time - to get resources and tools designed just for us.
Many of life's big issues will be coming our way - the issue isn't IF, but WHEN. GenXpertise will help us be prepared when they do arrive, and connected to each other for support and friendship as we muck through them.
This is a passion project, and I want us to come together as a GenX community to learn, support each other, and build more success - whatever that means to each of us. So I call myself the Chief Community Architect, and the foundation is based on the numerous pieces of my career, experiences, and life.
In order to have more, you must become more.
That's my favorite quote, and it's from Jim Rohn. It drives and inspires me every day (and it's even on the wall behind my desk which you'll see in future videos).
GenXpertise is all about delivering resources and programs that will help you become more of who you want to be, and to have more of what you want. Are you ready for that adventure?
